ReplyDeleteWhere can I get these? Excel Files I can generate.
Have you got an Idiot's Guide - pdf or YouTube video on how to operate this utility - step by step from log-in?

I need a map for Nepal. Any chance it's coming in the near future???
ReplyDeletePeter
Hi Peter,
ReplyDeleteIf you send us a free map of Nepal, in any GIS format (SHP, Mapinfo and so on), we will add it.
Thanks.
What if I have dynamic data? If there a way TargetMap could update my map every 5 minutes or so?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Kathy
By now you can't update dinamically your data. We are studying it for possible future releases.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your interest
I lost my map and I saved it numerous times! It is called annual rainfall. It has the rainfall of every country in (mm). It is completely gone and not under my maps. I even saved it on my desktop, but when I open it. It goes to a blank map. How do I get my map back? I spent hours on it
ReplyDeleteDear Baker,
ReplyDeleteCould you please tell us what is your username in TargetMap? We try to fix this as quickly as we can.
Baker, probably you deleted the excel related to the map you were doing, and with that, you deleted also the map. We try to find a solution for this, but if it was that what happen your map is lost. We are sorry about that. Thank you for your patience.
ReplyDeleteWe publish a magazine about HSEQ in Colombia (we are releasing our first issue, indeed)and I want to know if we can publish maps from targetmap?
ReplyDeleteHi Fernando,
ReplyDeleteNo prob at all, you can publish shared reports, this is what targetmap public profiles is all about, sharing & spreading information thru maps.
Hi, I'm from Mexico, I work in a Geomatics Research Center. My team and I are creating a map using a database with the municipalities of certain states, but we face a problem: several Mexican municipalities have the same name, in different status. When we uploud our database with the municipalities of Coahuila, for example, one of them (Arteaga), is shown in a different state (Michoacán), since the municipality of Arteaga exists in both status (Coahuila and Michoacán). The same problem comes up with several other municipalities. My questions are: What criteria do you use to relate the name of municipalities to the map? How can we help to solve this problem? Could you assign a specific code to each municipality, to avoid this problem?
ReplyDeleteThank you, greetings.
As we said to you in an e-mail you can see how to solve this problem in this post How to upload an excel by territory names
ReplyDeleteHi, TargetMap,
ReplyDeleteFirst, beautiful work here--thank you!
Second, I'm trying to reach contributor, "Portugalwaterhardness" as there are some very good maps he/she has created, but with no comments on the information source. Any ideas?
Thank you,
Kevin Rowley
Minnesota, USA
Hi Kevin,
ReplyDeleteSend us an e-mail to crew (at) targetmap.com and we will try to put you in contact with the user.
I have created a few maps, and the process has been pretty cool. What I want to know - I have data by US area codes that I would like to map. Is there a way to display data by area codes on a map?
ReplyDeleteHi Greg,
ReplyDeleteWe are thinking about this posibility in future releases, but nowadays you can't display data by area codes. You can use pin points instead.
Thanks for your interest!
Hallo everybody,
ReplyDeleteI'm a Premium user having some trouble with what I usually call tartegmap's personal blue screen of death. Some options, like the new pie-chart, prompt a message on the blueish screen of yours. My problem is that as the blue+popup message appears, I am not able to do anything, neither click 'cancel' nor 'ok', the only thing I can do is close the window and start again from the beginning. Kind of annoying. It also happens when an .xls file upload goes wrong and in some other occasions. I think your first goal right now should be to fix these issues asap.
Btw, I'm on a Mac OSX 10.5, working on the map of Italy.
Greetings,
Roberto
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThis is an issue of Flash Plugin for Mac, it doesn't treat well these kind of popup messages. It seems to work better in Chrome, but it freezes the screen too. We will try to fix it as soon as possible, preferently this afternoon.
Thank you for your feedback and our apologies for the inconveniences.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteThe issue has been fixed. If you have any problem feel free to contact us again.
Thanks for using TargetMap
Great, now the BSOD is no more a nightmare. It allows me to 'cancel' and continue my job. Thank you very much for such a fast and efficient support, it really makes it worth the money.
DeleteAnother couple of suggestions:
- It would be great to have .ods files supported. For a service like yours, that counts on sharing information for free, the exclusion of ods formats sounds... weird. (I'm pretty sure you are already thinking about it!)
- (difficult one) another HUGE improvement I would LOVE to see in a next future would be the possibility to connect to ODBC and/or support for Office/OpenOffice database.
- Last but not least, and pretty much important, export format should allow to export in one BIG image the whole covered area, not only a screenshot, and also PDF would be useful.
That's it,
thanks again for such a great job.
Roberto
Thank you very much for your compliments!
DeleteWe will keep in mind all your suggestions. Some of them require a lot of time to implement, but in the next meetings we will talk about them in addition to some of the ideas we have in mind to improve TargetMap.
Thanks again and we hope you enjoy our platform! :D
Hi! I need a global map shown at country levels and at the same time shown at states or province levels for sizable countries such as US or China. Can you help me to make such a map? According to my previous experiences on your website, it seems impossible. Please help me :D
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteNowadays this is not possible in our application. We will keep it in mind for possible future releases, but it won't be in the near future.
Thanks for your interest.
Hi,
ReplyDeletei am triying to make a US map, but New York zips doensnt appear in the final map. I have tried it putting NY zip number, only the zip number and New York zip number.
I can see perfectly the rest of states. Just lacks New York.
Thanks,
eladio
Can you send us your Excel file to crew(at)targetmap.com so we can check?
DeleteThanks for your interest
I am mapping our alumni by zip code however the resulting map isn't showing certain states but the file include alumni in those states. Is this because I am a not to share useer and it is only displaying 80% of my data or is there something wrong with my data file.
ReplyDeleteIt's because you are a not to share user and it's only displaying 80% of your records. When you upgrade to Premium you will be able to see all your records in your map.
DeleteThanks for your interest!
I thought you could place your map on your website. We would like our alumni to be able to click on a pinpoint and see how many alumni are in the ZIP code as well as the state. If this is possible, where can I find the instructions for doing it?
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteFor now it is not possible to make a map with zip codes and make it public. But we are working in a few new ideas and we are thinking about letting use zip codes as "Share" users with a small fee. It won't be ready soon, I'm sorry. For now you can try to make a map by counties with a Share account and publish it.
Our apologies for the inconveniences.
Best regards
I created a share account and created a map of alumni by county and then shared it. However, it is not showing all of the counties that have alumni. Is this back to the only using 80% of my data issue again? If so then I have created and shared a map that is inaccurate. If not, what is the problem?
DeleteHi, can you send us an e-mail to crew(at)targetmap.com? And tell us your user account and send us the Excel file you used. Maybe some of the counties doesn't have the correct name and you have to use "No-geo" feature to put the correct name that our system detects. It's an orange triangle with an exclamation mark that appears beside the buttons that are next to "Level detail" at the Map editor.
DeleteBest regards.
Hello! I am super excited about this tool! One question that I haven't been able to find the answer to... I have about 4,000 lines of Excel data that I'd like to enter (we're a school and want to track where our graduates are). I am using the free private option, but do not see all of my data- by paying for the service, will that volume of pinpoints be allowed? Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteWe've tested TargetMap with all the zip codes of United States and it works fine. It depends on your computer. So, with Premium account you won't have the "80% of records limit" and you will see everything.
If you have more questions feel free to ask sending us an e-mail to crew(at)targetmap.com
Best regards
Hi TargetMap team, Thank you for your excellent work!
ReplyDeleteI have a small problem of label display. It is only the case for one country (Peru). I don't understand why? http://www.targetmap.com/viewer.aspx?reportId=20356
Best regards
Hi,
DeleteIt's weird. Try to update your map and put again the label directly with the mouse on Peru.
I tried once again, it is not working.
DeleteI have the same trouble when adding a number to a new country in my map.
DeleteWe need more information about what you were doing to find a solution. We have tested to add a label on Perú or put new values in a saved map and it's working for us.
DeleteDear Javier,
DeleteFinally, I created a copy of my map and hide all map labelling of boundaries. Now I am able to click on boundaries to insert again labels on any countries !! Thanks for your assistance.
Hello, I searched this blog for "eps", but didn't get a result back. Can the maps be exported to a vector editable eps format?
ReplyDeleteNope. This feature is not available in TargetMap. Thanks for your interest
DeleteHi, how long will it take to get my first map approved? Love this tool and I would like to share portions of the 40 TB of user engagement from one of the largest social networks Badoo to share from.
ReplyDeleteIt depends. But usually not more of 24 hours to get a response.
ReplyDeleteI have a few journalists who would like to include that map in their online versions. Any chance I can tell them when it is possible?
DeleteHi, they only have to register and publish the map. If it is published between 9:00 AM - 18:00 AM in GMT+1 it will probably be accepted instantly. If it is in other schedule it might take a while, but I cannot tell how long exactly.
DeleteWell, without you approving it, I can not share it with them, and they cant see the map. I presume.
DeleteI don't know what you mean. You just have to create the map, publish it, then we will approve it and you will be able to share that map with them. I don't see the problem, we send you an e-mail automatically when the map is approved with the url of the map.
DeleteThanks. It works.
DeleteI'm interested in showing state-level data for all of the US states in a compact way (with Hawaii and Alaska). Is this possible?
ReplyDeleteI can no longer connect to the targe map 1.0 editor. I receive a error message from firefox : Plug In Container from Tumucumaque doesn't work
ReplyDeleteBut I have the latest firefox and flash version installed
It seems to be a problem in your PC. Editor is working fine.
DeleteI would like to use this service as a research tool, but I currently require a map that allows me to show information at the district (sub-state) level in India. As far as I know, I'm only able to create a map at the state and regional levels for India, but other maps, such as the US, have smaller divisions like counties. Is it possible to get these for India any time soon?
ReplyDeleteI have a one column zip code list with 11 kb of data and I cannot get it to get pass "loading data". I have placed the zip codes in the A column and done according to instructions. It just sits there loading data. Please assist-thanks
ReplyDeleteCan you send us an e-mail to crew(at)targetmap.com with your Excel file? We will test it. It seems that your zip codes are not the ones that TargetMap detects, maybe they have some special character like "-". Tell us which country did you choose too, please.
ReplyDeleteBest regards
I have attempted to upload my spreadsheet several times and have removed columns, but nothing seems to work. I now down to three columns, still unable to upload. I changed all the numbers to text. I removed zip codes, names, address...nothing works.
ReplyDeleteCan you give me any advise on what I can do to get the spreadsheet uploaded?
Thanks, Priscilla

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI wanted to ask your assistance in finding the resources or to way to contact the publisher regarding his sources of data.
The map "Skin tone degree by country (Luschan Scale)" by Khina12 is based on Luschan scale. The Luschan scale range is 0-36, when dark skin tone is around 36. The max value in the map is 13.6 so I don't understand what is the exact meaning of the data.
Thanks, Dror
